  1. Saw this coming, except I thought The Origin would be the de facto MSG HD remaster.

  2. That is quite a weird choice of animes that they will be airing; especially Gundam Age. I thought Gundam Age wasn't that popular? Or maybe this is just a second attempt at revitalizing the series to give reason to finally release the MG for the 3rd and 4th arc of Gundam Age? Unless I am mistaken, they have not released any of the MGs of Age-3 (Normal, Orbital, Fortress), Age Effects and that blue Trans Am version, and the Age-1 Granda or whatever it was called.

So I guess they were working on doing an HD Remaster ver. for the original Gundam.
    0080? What is that?
Oh and why would they air Gundam ZZ and not the one before Zeta? Makes no sense.

And G Gundam? Very weird. Why not something like Gundam Wing or Gundam X? Weren't those 2 more popular?

Can someone comment on what the connection is for:

    Gundam
    Gundam ZZ
    Gundam Age
    Gundam Unicorn
    Gundam Movie Trilogy
    G Gundam

I am not a Gundam master at all, but I have seen many series. But just from this information I really don't see the logic behind it.

    1. I'm not sure if this will help but here goes:

Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Gundam Unicorn and Gundam Movie Trilogy are all set in the Universal Century timeline which is the original timeline in the Gundam Universe.

Gundam Movie Trilogy tells the story of Amuro Ray, an inexperienced newtype (ESP user) who come across an advanced battle mech while his colony is attacked by a force from the Zeons, led by "The Red Comet" Char Aznable. They duel many times over the series while dealing with personal issues. Amuro is trying to come to terms with the responsibilities of being a man (he's only 15), while Char is out to kill the family of Degin Zabi, the man who murdered his father and made himself leader of the Zeons to declare war on Earth. At the same time Char is attempting to reunite with his sister Sayla Mass, who is fighting alongside Amuro and Earth's military forces. The war that ensues ties Amuro and Char together for many years (and a couple sequels) to come.

Originally a novel written by Yoshiyuki Tomino (Brain Powered, Aura Battler Dunbine), the 43 episode series is decently directed and condensed into three films. The animation is (obviously) dated, but the fight scenes are still cool to watch, as are the character designs of Yoshikazu "Yas" Yasuhiko (Venus Wars, Dirty Pair: Project Eden). The music ranges from typical action-style BGM to whimsical 70's style ballads. The subtitling is nice and clear while the translators keep much of the orignial material and attitudes intact and don't attempt to imprint stupid Amrican names on the characters. (Joe Saber, ugggh!)

So it's kinda like the whole series compressed into a couple of movies.

For Gundam Age and G Gundam, I'm not really sure how they got there. ><

  4. That still does not explain why Bandai chose to reair those specific Gundam animes and not some of the other ones. I looked up information on Google and on a site called Gundam Wikia, they have a list of Gundam Universal Centy anime series in chonrlogical order.

I copy that list from that website and it said

Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO (January, UC0079)
    Mobile Suit Gundam (September, UC0079)
Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team (October, UC0079)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (December, UC0079)
Gundam the Ride: A Baoa Qu (December, UC0079)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (UC0083)
    Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (UC0087)
Gundam Neo Experience 0087: Green Divers (UC0087)
    Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ (UC0088)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack (UC0093)
    Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (UC0096)
    Mobile Suit Gundam F91 (UC0123)
    Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (UC0153)
    G-Saviour (UC223)

So if Bandai was going to have any meaning, they should have at least done only Universe Centy series or at least have a reason why Gundam Age (which did bad) and G Gundam to be included and not something like the Gundam Z (since Gundam ZZ is going to be shown). I think Gundam Unicorn is okay since the last episode of the series is going to be shown very soon and many people are excited. I just watched Unicorn episode 1 2 3 4 5 and 6 and it's really cool even though I don't know a lot about the UC stuff that they sometimes talk about, but I think the music is really cool and the fighting is cool. I just don't like that they talk so much and wish they would fight more. I think Bandai should remake all the important UC Gundam series into the small episode series with crazy cool graphics like Unicorn and make it easier for people to watch. I tried to watch Gundam V and Gundam regular and I did not like it because the graphics looked so old and it was annoying.
